Another month it’ll be 12 years, I can’t believe I’ve stayed right here.
I didn’t want to overstay, it was another stop along the way.
Onto somewhere, and something more.
The crumbling brick and potholed streets, a highway that’ll never be complete.
The Harley's rumble at every hour, despite these flaws and so much more.
It’s still my, still my home.
I wrote this song, for all of those who think my lyrics aren’t an open book.
We’ve had our fun, but now its time to give the people what they want.
Well is this what you want? A sad little country song, from me.
The gears stopped turning years ago, and emptied out the bungalows.
The rich moved west, the poor scraped by, but there’s still some of us who try.
Cuz it’s still our, still our home.
I wrote this song, for all of those who said my lyrics aren’t an open book.
Not that they’re wrong, sometimes it’s just too hard to say what’s on my mind.
